Point Repairs
When CCTV inspection identifies an isolated defect, a point repair fixes that exact spot without digging up the entire line, saving time, money, and surface disruption.
What is a Point Repair?
A point repair is a targeted, trenchless fix for a specific defect identified during CCTV inspection. Rather than replacing an entire pipe run, a point repair installs a short structural liner or sleeve directly over the problem area from inside the pipe. The repair restores the structural integrity and flow capacity of that section without excavating the surface above it.
Point repairs are most commonly used to address root intrusion, cracked or broken pipe sections, offset or separated joints, and localized corrosion. Because the repair is driven by CCTV data, you know exactly what you are fixing, where it is, and what the pipe looks like before and after the work is done.
MVP uses CCTV inspection and point repair as a combined workflow. If an inspection turns up a defect that qualifies for a point repair, we can scope the repair, mobilize the equipment, and complete the work without bringing in a separate contractor.
When a point repair is the right call:
- Isolated crack, fracture, or break identified during CCTV inspection
- Offset or separated joint causing infiltration or structural concern
- Root intrusion at a specific joint or section of pipe
- Localized corrosion or pipe wall deterioration
- Post-cleaning defect repair before pipe lining or rehabilitation
- Avoiding full pipe replacement when only one section is compromised
- Restoring structural integrity before development acceptance
- Emergency repair of a known defect flagged during municipal inspection
